- Cold rolled steel is basically a hot rolled steel that has had applied to further processing, where the metal is cooled then annealed and/or temper rolled to match the required specific dimensions and reduce the surface defects, preparing it to the next finishing processes.
Cold rolled steel is easier to control and process which result a superior products with more precise dimensions and wider surface finishes.
As well as hot rolled steel it is commercially sold either in sheets or in coils.
Uses of cold rolled steel are various and goes for almost all applications dependent on steel such as home appliances, steel furniture, automobiles,…etc.
